Ride For Change

Last June, the AIDS LifeCycle ride concluded its 31 year run. When the event started 31 years before, it had 400 riders and raised about $1 million. In June 2025, the event was capped at 3,000 riders and raised $17.5 million for the two main charities it benefited, the SF AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

The AIDS LifeCycle ride impacted countless humans- from those benefiting from the funds raised to those doing the ride itself. This group owes its creation to the AIDS ride- Carolyn rode in 2022 with Rubie and the two of them founded the parent organization to Badass Bike Bitches, the PuMadres--a team of over-40 women who became 545 mile ride-or-dies for each other. In the process of training and readying for the ride, our team raised over $50,000!

This weekend, most of the original PuMadres plus a new Badass Bike Bitch (yay!!) will be riding in Cycle2Zero, the offshoot event from the AIDS LifeCycle organization. Riding to support organizations who are committed to doing good in the world is one of our (Badass Bike Bitches) key values, and we encourage you to think about committing to ride in the fall fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis, Waves to Wine. BABBs will be training for and riding in this event- ride for a cause!

We'll be back the next week with more riding-- but we encourage you to think about how you can harness the power of your body to change the world through participating in a fundraising event like Cycle2Zero, Waves to Wine or even creating your own!
