​BABBS was born from a simple belief: life is better—and a whole lot more fun—when women ride together.

​

Our story began with the PuMadres, an AIDS/LifeCycle team founded by Rubie Campbell and Carolyn Gramstorff in 2022. What started as two women training for a single ride quickly grew into a close-knit team of ten who spent the next several years riding, climbing, laughing, supporting one another, and ultimately completing our final AIDS/LifeCycle together in 2025.

When that chapter ended, we realized something important: while the event was over, the community we had built was too special to leave behind.

Over the next six months, co-founders Carolyn Gramstorff and Victoria sat down with teammates to understand what had made the PuMadres so transformative. Again and again, the same themes emerged—belonging, encouragement, adventure, accountability, joy, and the confidence that comes from being surrounded by women who believe in you, cheer for you, and always wait at the top.

Those conversations became the blueprint for Badass Bike Bitches (BABBS).

We launched BABBS in February 2026 with a simple mission: to help more women 40+ discover the freedom, confidence, connection, and pure joy that comes from getting (back) on a bike and riding together.

​

Today, BABBS offers three signature experiences:

• Our Beginner Program, with Begin Again and Builder tracks for women starting—or restarting—their cycling journey.

• Sunday Team Training for riders preparing for longer rides and bigger cycling goals.

• BABBS Adventures, our cycling getaways that combine incredible riding with friendship, exploration, and just the right amount of fun.

 

BABBS is especially unique in that it wasn't built by just two founders—it was built by a community. Many of the original PuMadres who helped shape the vision became founding owners of BABBS alongside Carolyn and Victoria, who serve as co-founders and co-CEOs. That shared ownership reflects what we've believed from the very beginning: the best communities aren't built for people—they're built with them.

 

We're proud of where BABBS began. But even more than that, we're excited about where we're headed—and we'd love for you to ride with us.
